If you served in the military on or after September 11, 2001 for a total of 90 days - or were honorably discharged for a service-connected disability after serving at least 30 consecutive days - you are eligible for the Post-9/11 GI Bill®. You may be eligible for additional benefits as well.
New Horizons Indianapolis encourages all Veterans and Service Members to contact the VA directly regarding a complete explanation of benefits available under the Post 9/11 GI Bill®.
Please review the VA Post 9/11 GI Bill® web page and / or call the VA at 1-888-GIBILL-1.
The following are highlights of benefits that eligible individuals may receive using their GI Bill® Benefits to attend training with New Horizons Indianapolis. Depending on your percent of eligibility you can get started with little or no out of pocket expense or education loans.
What Benefits Am I Eligible to Receive?
Tuition and Fees:
Tuition and fees are paid directly to New Horizons based on your percentage of eligibility.
Veterans who served less than 36 total months on active duty will receive a percentage of tuition and fees. For example, veterans who served on or after September 11, 2001, for a total of 90 days—or who were honorably discharged for a service-connected disability after serving at least 30 consecutive days—are eligible for the Post-9/11 GI Bill®.
Service periods already pledged to satisfy a service academy active duty obligation, and service periods pledged for education loan repayment purposes, do not count as active duty service to establish eligibility for Post-9/11 GI Bill® education benefits. In general, veterans will receive 36 months of benefits. They have 15 years, from the date of their last separation from active duty, to use the benefits.
The Post-9/11 GI Bill® provides up to 36 months of education benefits. It is payable only for training at an eligible institution. The benefits cover tuition and fees.
Veterans who served at least 36 months of active duty service may qualify for 100% of available education benefits. Veterans who served less than 36 total months on active duty will receive a percentage of the tuition and fees.
